Each month, Global Importune and our members focus on at least three different Amnesty International cases involving victims of human rights abuse from varied countries. Most are what Amnesty International calls prisoners of conscience — people imprisoned solely for their beliefs, color, sex, ethnic origins, language, or religion, who have not used or advocated violence. Others may have been denied a fair and prompt trial, while others may have been tortured or “disappeared.” Each one needs our help.
If you decide to become a member of Global Importune you should look forward to receiving the letters in the early part of each month. Each month, you have the option of:
- Signing or not signing the enclosed letters;
- Copying the letters directly onto your own stationery [personal or professional] and signing;
- Handwriting letters directly onto your stationery or
- Composing your own letters based on the provided information.
Whichever method you choose be sure to return the letters to G.I. as quickly as possible.
